Welcome in Tibet!

This part of the site is about Tibet. The capital of Tibet is the beautiful city Lhasa.

Tibet is also called "the roof of the world" because it is located in the Himalaya mountain range with the highest mountains of the world.

The main attraction is the Potala Palace in Lhasa, but there are many other popular tourist destinations, including Jokhang Temple, Namtso Lake, and the Tashilhunpo Monastery.

Tibet is located on the Tibetan Plateau, the highest region on Earth. In northern Tibet elevations reach an average of over 4,572 metres.

Most of the Himalaya mountain range is in Tibet. The Mount Everest, which is the hightest mountain on wearth, is located on the border with Nepal.

Xinjiang, Qinghai and Sichuan are situated to the north and east of the of Tiber, while India and Kashmir to the west; and Yunnan, Nepal, India and Bhutan to the south.
